WDI Brasil sends resources to our website in Portuguese, English and Spanish

WDI Brasil sent important docs to the Resources section of the website da WDI International. The first is their 2021 request to the federal attorney to keep single-sex prisons [PGR-00112911/2021] , the second is an academic article about the history of 'gender identity'politics in their country, the third is another academic article criticising the 'gender affirmative model' regarding to children (all three articles are in Portuguese and the third one was also translated to Spanish) and, finally, a newly made article in English about the impact of 'gender identity' politics in Brazilian on women and children's rights.

A WDI Brasil enviou documentos importantes para a página de Recursos no site da WDI Internacional. O primeiro é o requerimento delas de 2021 ao Procurador-Geral da República para manter as prisões separadas por sexo [PGR-00112911/2021 ], o segundo é um artigo acadêmico sobre a História das políticas de 'identidade de gênero' em seu país, o terceiro é outro artigo acadêmico criticando o 'modelo afirmativo de gênero' no que diz respeito a crianças (os três estão em português, sendo que o terceiro foi traduzido para o espanhol) e, finalmente, um artigo recente em inglês sobre o impacto das políticas baseadas em 'identidade de gênero' nos direitos de mulheres e crianças brasileiras.

New translations in Slovenian

WDI Slovenia has translated several articles on 'gender identity' by prominent feminists into Slovenian. You can read those on the WDI Slovenia page.

Woman discovered chained in a shed in China

A woman, mother to eight children, was discovered chained up in a shed next to the family home in Xuzhou in China. 

Woman cleared of lying over Cyprus gang rape

The Supreme Court in Cyprus has cleared a British woman of lying about being gang raped. The woman said she was attacked by 12 Israeli men in a hotel room but was accused of lying about it after retracting her allegation under pressure from police. 

Polish woman dies after doctors refuse abortion

A woman, Agnieska T, who was carrying twins died on 25 January. Both her twins had died in the womb but doctors refused to terminate her pregnancy, citing Poland's draconian abortion laws. Her family have accused the government of having 'blood on their hands'.

Indian firm offers 'period leave' to female and trans-identified male staff

Indian software firm, Scaler, has offered 12 days a year of 'period leave' to its female and trans-identified male staff. 

US parents sue staff and school boards over 'gender identity'

A mother in California is suing two teachers and a school board, claiming they 'brainwashed' her daughter into thinking she was a boy. A couple in Florida is suing several members of staff at an elementary school, accusing them of 'grooming' their 12-year-old daughter into assuming a male 'gender identity'. 

Male sex offender, 26, sent to juvenile female facility

A judge in the US has sent a 26-year-old man who claims to be a woman to a juvenile female facility after he pleaded guilty to molesting a 10-year-old girl when he was 17. 

Police visit charity chief to 'ascertain her thinking'

Police in Scotland visited the home of Nicola Murray, founder of the Brodie's Trust domestic abuse charity for women who have lost babies through domestic violence or forced abortion, to 'ascertain her thinking'. Nicola had releaseed a statement online which said that Brodie's Trust would no longer signpost women towards Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre, after its male CEO announced that rape victims would be 'challenged on their prejudices' if they had 'bigoted views'.

Pennsylvania law organisations say female athletes should try harder

A group of Pennsylvania law organisations has claimed that male swimmer Lia Thomas has not won his races because he is male but because 'of the hard work' he has put in this swimming season. 

British Cycling warns members not to criticise new male-inclusion policy

British Cycling has announced a new policy to include males in female cycling competitions and has warned members not to criticise it or face sanctions.

Indian 'feminist' website offers advice on self-harm

Feminism In India, which describes itself as 'an award-winning digital intersectional feminist media organisation to learn, educate and develop a feminist sensibility among the youth' has published a 'comprehensive' guide to chest-binding. 

Women-only gyms are discriminatory

The Supreme Court of Connecticut has ruled that 'that designating areas of a gym or fitness club for exclusive use by women violates state law barring discrimination based on sex.' Read more in Women Are Human.
